1. Take A Deep Breath Model how you want your children to react in stressful situations.

2. Hug It Out Try giving your little a big squeeze at the start of a tantrum to let them know that you are here for them.

3. Acknowledge Feelings & Name Their Emotion (or explain what you see) “You seem super frustrated right now” is a great example of acknowledging their feelings and putting a name to their big emotions.

4. Reflect & Redirect “You are very frustrated right now because XYZ. I understand how frustrating that may seem” After sympathizing with your child, help to redirect them to a new activity.
