You know how they say you’re the best parent before you are one!? Well here is a perfect instance. I spent some time living in St. Croix, Virgin Islands when I was younger and I was given the nickname of “Topless” from all the local Cruzan women. At the age of 5, this was a totally acceptable, dare I even say, cute nickname. So growing up I always looked at those kids on the beach all covered up and thought, “whats the point?” They’re at the beach, let them be naked and play. Plus all those rash guard style swimsuits were NOT cute. Well then I entered motherhood and became one of those over protective, slightly neurotic moms. At a few months old, my daughter, got her first rosy red cheeks from being in the sun a few minutes longer than she should have and I freaked! My poor baby! That is when I realized I needed to be extra cautious with her delicate skin. Living in Florida, I had plenty of cute bathing suits that had been gifted to our daughter but nothing  seemed suitable. That’s about the time my love of SwimZip began. We started ISR (Infant self rescue) swim lessons at age 6 months and I knew I needed something safe for her to wear. We bought our first SwimZip bathing suit and its been a love affair ever since! Not only were the suits EXTREMELY ADORABLE but they also were SO practical and SUN SAFE. I mean, seriously! Any mother of a 6 month old knows that getting your child dressed is like the worst experience ever for them. You’d think I was pinching her with every limb I tried to remove to from that article of clothing. Well try removing a wet, sopping bathing suit after a challenging swim lesson. Another win for SwimZip, with one swift zip up or down the suit is ON/OFF! You’d almost think a mom herself designed them ;). My husband and I both have our SwimZips as well so I guess you could say its a family affair! I have been so fortunate to form a friendship with Betsy (the owner of SwimZip), even if it has just been via the web! She makes an amazing product and I’m proud to support her in her mission to help keep your entire family sun safe! They are also celebrating their ONE year anniversary since appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank, so go on over and check them out! You won’t regret it. Summer will be here before you know it (or at least I’m sure a lot of you are praying it will be) so be ready and gear up!
