A Message to Mothers at Any Stage in Their Life
This post was written by Nicole of Our Robins Nest.
To the new mom who just brought her newborn home and feels overwhelmed with emotions..
To the tired mom has been up all night trying to soothe her baby and cannot understand why they won’t stop crying..
To the crying mom who can’t button her jeans and is dreading buying a new pair..
To the confused mom who feels guilty about not being able to breastfeed..
To the irritable mom who just argued with her toddler that they cannot have chocolate for breakfast, and she loses the battle..
To the shamed mom who is buying every scar removal cream hoping it will remove her C-section scar..
To the heartbroken mom who was just told by their toddler ‘I hate you!’..
To the embarrassed mom who had to abruptly leave the store as fast as she could with their crying toddler before someone says what a terrible parent they are for continuing to shop while their child tantrums..
To the sick mom who has a terrible head cold..
To the rushing mom who is running late to work and not listening to her child tell them the dog at their microwave pancake..
To the anxious mom who just cleaned the house and put everything away only to turn around and see another mess in the works..
To the bummed out mom having to cancel long overdue plans with a friend because her child is sick, again..
To the stay at home mom who can’t wait for them to go to bed, but feels guilty about it..
To the working mom who had to stay late at work and is hoping her kids are sleeping by the time she gets home so she can relax, but feels guilty about it..
To the single mom who just lost her job..
To the lost mom helping her children with their homework even though she has no idea what she is doing..
To the strong mom who is comforting her child that just came home from school crying because they were getting picked on..
To the shocked mom who just got a call from school saying her child got suspended for fighting..
To the scared mom who just found out she is pregnant but it wasn’t planned..
To the frustrated mom arguing with her teen because they keep saying ‘you don’t understand’..
To the unorganized mom who is getting ready to send her child off to college that is 5 hours away..
To the fed up mom who is considering leaving her spouse..
To the composed mom who just had to hear from her daughter that her boyfriend cheated on her..
To the sad mom whose child is away at school calls and says ‘I miss you’..
To the lonely mom who doesn’t know what to do with herself because all the kids have moved out..
To the excited mom who just got a call from her son saying he is expecting with his wife but you live 300 miles away.
To the caring mom holding her daughter who is crying because she thinks she is a bad parent..
To the overwhelmed mom who has no idea why she is crying..
Always know that the feelings you are having right now will not last forever, but you as a mother will.
Motherhood at any stage is hard and although it may not feel like it now, it is the most rewarding job you will ever have.
Seasons change and so will you as a mom, just remember the pain and joys we endure are what makes our lives so meaningful.
